Welcome to The Dance Gallery. A few words: the select photographs reflect significant aspects of my worldly relations over the years. To begin, I took photography courses with John Divola and John Bach at California Institute of the Arts. I carried my Olympus 1 camera everywhere; it was an upgrade from the family Brownie my father packed for me as I boarded EL AL to Israel spring of 1976 when I was assistant to Donald McKayle for four months working with Batsheva Dance Company. Naming my web venue, ‘The Dance Gallery’ is an homage to our other Los Angeles-based choreographer, Bella Lewitzky for whom the whole of the professional dance community danced in celebration of the ground-breaking for Bella’s vision,—The Dance Gallery: a studio-theater, educational and archival home for Los Angeles dance.
